It's totally fine. You should be able to leverage that experience for your summer internship after your junior year. One caveat - expect to work longer hours than the US in Korea though...
If you can get an IBD internship in Seoul, that would be great and definitely go for it. Not knowing your background, I personally think it's easier to cold-email to get an internship at a boutique shop in the US... which by the way is still pretty good. If you don't have a lot of finance-related internship, I would definitely avoid study abroad.
Im a student in the U.S. (Born and always lived here). Does experience or prestige matter for a soph year internship? Ideally both is best but if you had to choose one or the other- what would you say?
Just do the internship. If its one of those companies you listed, its a great entry point and the brand recognition alone will get you interviews everywhere next semester.
The question needs to be more specific. If you are referring to a BO role at BB vs. modeling/valuation role at boutique, I would probably choose the latter. Having said that, it's pretty hard to find a quality sophomore internship, and even the ones you eventually find might not be as good as you hoped for. So practically, settling with the BO role might be a better option. I would say that keep searching hard until April.
It would be modeling/valuation atBB or EBB. I think the main question I'm asking is if this internship would be enough to get past the resume screen for next year for BB and EBB in NYC?

As far as your sophomore internship experience goes, it is rock solid. Just take it.
