IBD Special Equities Group

Tried search function to no avail...

From what I understand, this team sits between IBD and S&T, marketing and structuring transactions for clients (incl. restricted stock trading, share repurchases, stock distributions and liquidiations, tender offerings, open market repurchases). Key points of contact would be ECM, M & A, and various S & T as well.

Any insight on the type of work (i.e., any modelling skill developed), exit opps, future of these types of desks? Appreciate the insight of more informed / better placed monkeys, as always.
