IB/M&A Graduate Programs 2014

Hi everyone,

I am looking towards applying for next year's Graduate Programs in London and/or Frankfurt aiming towards a career in M&A. Thats a list of the ones I find potentially interesting. How would you rate the following BBs and Boutiques in terms of overall attractiveness (prestige, learning curve, salary, exit opps, hours,..) Could someone with more industry expertise perhaps elaborate which ones would be the preferred ones (in case he could chose where to work at)?

BB

J.P. Morgan
Morgan Stanley
Goldman Sachs
Citi
Deutsche Bank
Credit Suisse
UBS
HSBC
Barclays
Bank of America Merril Lynch

MM/Boutiques

UniCredit
Societé Génerale
Commerzbank
Lazard
Evercore
Greenhill & Co
Houlihan Lokey
Jefferies
Robert W. Baird
The Blackstone Group
DC Advisory Partners

Thanks for opinion,

Regards!

or perhaps you apply and see what they think of you, get an offer or two, then come back.....

For christ's sake. Why do people on here decide to be selective before they've even been granted an offer. OP when you receive 2-3 offers (If you're incredibly luck) from the entire list you've provided then come back and ask what is viewed as the best, until then apply to anything and everything and see what you end up with. Being selective before you've even started applying is grade A quality stupidity.

Does anyone else think that the vault list is complete nonsense? How is Houlihan above MS? How is Perella better than Lazard? And William Blair, Suntrust and Cowen are better than DB, Barcap and BAML? And who's going to take JPM over BX or Goldman? Very weird ranking imo

IIRC, Vault has rankings based on different criteria (i.e. work/life balance, prestige, etc.).

There's various vault rankings. The ony you're talking about factors in various measures including diversity, pay, work / life balance, recognition, chance for career progression, exit ops etc etc. You can look into the various rankings by individual factors such as prestige, exit ops etc.
