IBs That Focus on Acquisition Financing / Equity Placement

Hey All, 

So I'm curious if there are any firms out there that focus on Equity placement for individual acquisitions. Basically the way RE capital markets brokers do it. Find a GP / Operating Co / Fundless Sponsor who wants to make an acquisition but doesn't have the cash/stock on hand to close it from their balance sheet, and find them a PE partner who will invest the equity/structured debt to get the acquisition closed. 

Is this typically handled by the Sponsors group at larger banks? Anyone know any groups that specifically focus on this? I normally do Private Placement work, so I've done a few deals like this and find it to be really interesting work. It also seems like something that would be interesting to specialize in as a senior banker. Find a few top caliber operators who don't have an actual PE fund and help them raise capital to close an acquisition or two each year.
