IE vs Exeter: Shouldn't IE Be the Clear Winner for IB?
I have several university options, but one comparison genuinely confuses me.
My goal is BB/EB IB → PE, and I'm only looking at how much the university's brand actually helps in recruiting.
I already have pre-university IB experience, finance projects, and don't mind networking or building my CV myself, so I'm not asking which school carries a lazy student better. I'm asking which one gives an ambitious student the stronger platform.
Here's what doesn't make sense to me:
IE is consistently ranked around Top 20 globally for Business & Management, while Exeter is around #150 globally overall. Yet whenever I ask people (and even AI) they keep putting IE and Exeter surprisingly close for undergraduate IB recruiting because Exeter is embedded in the UK recruiting pipeline.
Am I overestimating IE's undergraduate brand, or is Exeter's pipeline just stronger than I thought?
If your only objective was maximizing your chances of BB level recruiting, which would you pick, and why?
I heard some call Exeter a worse semi and others calling it a better semi. Any idea what these opinions are even based on?
