If I'm taking a year off, should I apply for 2019 SA IBD recruiting?

I'm a rising sophomore who's taking a year off with my friend to do a lot of traveling and do a couple entrepreneurial projects. I'm also probably going to try to get some kind of internship, so employers see my year off as productive. Should I apply for 2019 SA IBD? Because I thought the idea is that you get a return offer to come back after senior year? So would it be dishonest to go through recruiting now? I could just focus on getting a good internship for the summer before my actual junior year, and then focus my efforts on 2020 SA IBD recruitment towards the end of my year off?
