If you go to Wharton, are you supposed to introduce yourself as a Penn student or Wharton student?

Which is proper etiquette? Is it dick to say Wharton, or is it acceptable to do this? Hope my question doesn't come off in the wrong way, I'm just wondering. Kind of a stupid question.

What's wrong is that this is a fucking retarded question. You should be more concerned with the fact that you are a fucking tool than with your initial question. Here's a good idea, learn how to have fun and be a person instead of the ass-fucking drone you currently are.

That is all.

what the hell is wrong with you people? sure it's a fairly petty and insignificant thing, but to berate him like this is pathetic. just don't answer it if all you're going to say is he's an "ass-fucking drone" or a "fucking tool".

to answer the question: say you went to the wharton school at upenn, just to cover all bases.

the duality allows you to flex the message to the effect you want when introducing yourself...

name wharton if you are in business cercles, want to make impression etc.

name upenn when talking to outside folks. many people will never have heard of wharton, and in any case upenn sounds less threatening (the least threatening name in the ivy league :-) )

ditto... don't listen to the haters who didn't get into Wharton.

ditto... use Wharton in business circles, don't use it in normal conversation unless they ask. if they even know that Penn is an ivy, that's almost good enough. the educated ones will ask if you're in Wharton once they ask you what you're studying

just like is typical with banking, it's hard to explain what it is you do and what investment banking is to people who aren't familiar. i just roll with... i work for a bank.

Many people ask me if I went to Penn or Wharton, and I always answer them the same way:

"Don't you dare speak to me."
