Impact of Assessment vs Networking : UBS/Credit Suisse

UBS and Credit Suisse have very similar culture and verbal + quantitative tests for IB positions. I am just wondering how much the assessment is factored in vs the networking aspect. Can you get an interview if you have multiple analyst/associates but don't do very well on the tests? I recently did poorly on one of their tests, but have 3+ analyst/associate referrals, I am wondering if I am screwed or not.

Ive heard at least for CS that if you mess up your assessment, you can’t get an interview even with a referral
