In-house M&A internship
Hi guys I was wondering if someone here has any experience or knowledge of corporate development.
I'm currently working in consulting and I've been offered an in-house/internal M&A intern role in London for a corporate group that owns a portfolio of companies. I'll be part of a very small M&A team (only 3 employees in the M&A team). Forgive me if I'm wrong, but this is known as corporate development right?
Does anyone have any experience of corporate development? More specifically, how does it compare to M&A at an IB? How is corporate development viewed from an IBs point if view? Can one get into M&A at an IB after corp development? What are the long term prospects of working in corp dev if I enjoy the work and wish to stay on?
Any insights would be appreciated!
Thanks
BUMP
It's a tier 3 job (good). Exits to PE and IB. Could also move up within the company to any number of finance jobs. Source: http://wallstreetplayboys.com/navigating-wall-street/
