Incoming FT Analyst at BB Background checks - unpaid internships

Hey guys,

Incoming FT Analyst at a BB. Throughout my years in college, I completed 6 internship experiences, 3 of which were unpaid and at no-name boutiques where everyone I worked with already left (all freshman year internships). I also completed 2 F500 corporate internships in my sophmore year and an IB SA at a BB my junior summer, so these should be fine from a background check perspective. I got the FT return offer from my BB after the internship.

Would these 3 unpaid internships that I did during my freshman year screw over my background check as it most likely cannot be verified by the 3rd party background check company (since i didn't get paid)? Or would the BB primarily just care about the 2 F500 internships and the BB summer internship

Thanks in advance.

You’re seriously fine. My BB uses hireright and they couldn’t verify something so I had to submit a form basically saying that I attest that what I put on my resume is true.

Unless something egregious (lying about your test scores or GPA), you really should not be stressed about this

My background check for 2 BBs has stated that you should put paid internships/work only. You're fine

That said if anyone ever asks about them down the road you can offer other ways to verify them. i.e. HR likely has some record of you being there (assume you had a badge?), you can reach out to a former boss on LinkedIn and get a contact email for them to verify you worked with them, or I'm sure you have some emails to your personal email confirming offer, start date, etc. It's not a formal paperwork process to verify this type of thing but just if anyone does ask
