Incoming intern advise

Hi all, I am a 1st yr MBA and will be interning at a boutique this summer. The office is small-ish with only about 20-30 people of a boutique (think Moelis/Greenhill/Centerview). I don't want to get specific since it's a small office and a non-NYC office so pretty easy to make out details.

I don't come from investment banking background so of course super excited to be entering the industry. I was hoping to get some advise on being a successful SA given the dynamics of a small office.

Also, I was thinking, since summer is still a bit far, to schedule some lunches with the office associates, VPs and MDs prior to starting... not too many, but hopefully a coffee/lunch/beer with a couple of them to get in the thick of things. I'd appreciate any ideas around good conversation topics for such lunches, other than the same "What is your advise for the summer, etc?" type questions... is talking about industry trends too "MBA-wannabe"-ish?

Thanks WSOers!
