Industry reports - Cleantech

I have an interview on Monday where I'll need to discuss my understanding of the cleantech sector (specifically water and smart grid). Can anyone hook me up with some research reports or mention any online resources where I can read up recent trends?

DB have had some decent reports on the water industry over the last couple of years.

Jefferies has the best cleantech briefing note (covering a number of sub-sectors) that I've seen... it's called the Jefferies CleanTech Review. They have also produced a primer on the industry that is quite good. Back issues of the jefferies docs can be found through google.

Also, if you have access to S&P reports, have a look at their industry update reports.... quite informative in the context of getting an understanding of the industry dynamics for cleantech manufacturers etc.

Also best have a look at any briefing notes prepared by law firms as regulations are a big driver in the cleantech space. Baker McKenzie and Norton Rose are (globally) very strong in this space - look under climate change as the legal specialisation.

Thanks for the reply. I don't have access to any premium services. Are any of these available for free? Or do you have any PDFs you could send my way?

You might want to review the blog from Ennovance Capital http://ennovance.blogspot.com/ While folks are concerns about sovereign debt, regulatory changes, and increased competition, 2011 was a record year for clean technology deployments and I believe 2012 will be even a better year as capital flow increases and emerging dynamics continue to make the case for clean technology as a worthwhile industry.
