Inexpensive Financials data
Friends,
We are a smallish firm and cannot afford Cap IQ.
WWW.infinancials.com is what we are thinking about.
They charge the following (personal edition) -
1-month $629
12-month $2399
Do you know of any inexpensive alternatives to infinancials.com ?

You get what you pay for, my friend. Although I have had problems with CapitalIQ, it is definitely a legit way to go
Factset.
Company financial info databases (Originally Posted: 12/22/2009)
Hi all,
Does anyone know any sources (databases) that have access to company's financials and other company info, that is free or relatively inexpensive.
Im not talking about publicly listed companies here, im talking about also unlisted.
I know of Amadeus in Europe, but it is far too expensive. And one source in the US, which I am also assuming is too expensive.
Anyone got any other ideas?
Thanks
Assuming you're a student, you should have access to Bloomberg. Trying to find private company financials is a waste of time; if a company doesn't have to release data, they don't.
I am not a student, so dont have access.
And in Europe, private company info is available. Most companies have to lodge there statements which can be accessed by anyone (normally at cost).
I alread yknow of a couple of EU databases that have this info collated, but the costs are astronomical for an individual.
Thanks anyway, anyone else?
There is this thing it is called "the internet" and it has a place you can go and its called "google".
Check it out, you will find a small nit of information you can sift through.
But in all seriousness, try Hoovers, it is the best out there and provides "some" info for free.
Also, if you have a friend at a bank with CapitolIQ that is a pretty kick ass system as well.
In the U.S. it is pretty tough, because private companies do not have to file financials similar to the companies in the U.K. or other places in Europe. Hoovers could give you estimates on revenue, but are usually very far off.
Finding financial information without bloomberg? (Originally Posted: 09/03/2014)
I'm a high school senior taking a term to study investment banking (using the Rosenbaum textbook) just to dip my feet and see if I like it before getting to college, but I've run into a potential roadblock for my final project. I was hoping to apply the skills I learned in the valuation chapters to an actual valuation of an actual company, but the textbook I'm using says that the financial information/statistics that are necessary are all available through bloomberg (SEC filings, consensus research estimates, equity research reports, and press releases). However, as a high school student, I don't exactly have thousands of dollars to spend on bloomberg. Is there any free place I can get the financial statistics/info that I need in order to value companies? Also, am I assuming correctly that when the book says it can all be found in "Bloomberg" that it means Bloomberg terminal? Thanks!
Yes, means bloomberg terminal.
You can get all historical financials via the company's sec filings at sec.gov
finance.yahoo.com has consensus estimates. Research report will be hard to come by, as you mostly need to be a paying customer to receive them. If you or a family member has an E*Trade or similar account, that will provide access to some research reports.
also, once you've picked a company, just PM me and i'll send you some research reports.

Hey there, anyone know what the best places are to get inexpensive individual Financial Data?
For stocks? How do you define inexpensive?
What types of data?
Yes for stocks. I actually found pretty incredible data from this company called Intrinio. $50/month I get the excel add-in on my mac at home and windows at the office. Works on both OS's.
Has anyone else found anything better or cheaper?
sec.gov
