Infrastructure investment banking

I'm a political science student interested in infrastructure investment banking. From what I've read, the space seems interesting to me and influenced by events. I know it's a niche area, but that doesn't bother me. Aside from the usual bulge brackets and elite boutiques, are there any notable middle market or niche firms that have a real presence in the space?

Wasn’t even aware of what those were. Is Municipal/P3 infra more capital markets focused, while corporate is your typical energy, utilities, and other forms of infrastructure M&A?

public finance is a segment of the investment bank that offers banking products to tax-exempt issuers; usually one of their largest group is for infra. cities and public-private partnerships (P3) are their largest clients.

Deals are typical energy, utility, as you mention, but also airports, public transport, toll roads, gas prepays, and others

they mostly do tax exempt debt issuance but depending on the bank they can also offer liquidity like private placements and direct lending. there is some M&A in the space but less than corporate

Top of the street is JPM/BofA
