Interested in Investment Banking but Relocation Issue
Im a Sophomore undergraduate at a target school. I want to apply to summer internships at big banks but I live in Rhode Island so I would have to move for the summer over to NYC, and this fact is preventing me from applying from many jobs as if I do end up receiving an offer I might not be able to go.
I was wondering if these banks like JP Morgan or Goldman Sachs offer some kind of relocation package if requested.
You won't get an extra relocation package if you ask, but everyone doing an internship at a big bank will get a signing bonus of $5-10k that you can use for any up front expenses. You'll also get paid the same as first years, which should be $85k annualized.
Most people doing internships in NYC don't go to school there/have parents from there so there's nothing special about your situation - it's easy to make it work.
