Intern Abroad at a Fintech Company in Singapore

Hello guys, I just want to start a brief discussion regarding the feasibility of an intern opportunity abroad in Singapore within Fintech in order to break into investment banking.

I’m wrapping up my sophomore year of college and have not secured a related internship for this summer and next summer recruiting has already begun. I’ve applied to many finance/investment banking firms and have not had much luck regarding opportunities in those companies. I want to know if seizing this opportunity to be in Singapore and working in an emerging industry would help me land interviews at a BB bank down the line? I feel like it would be a great talking point and I would learn the necessary technical skills.

Will supply more context about myself and the internship upon request, but any opinion would be greatly appreciated!
