intern and school at the same time

Do you guys think it would be too much to intern as a summer analyst and take a summer course or two at the same time? I can take the courses online so no travel time.

I'd imagine with less deal flow as a result of the current economic situation it would be alright...I'll be working at a MM shop if that makes a difference.

Even at MM you'll most likely be working a lot. Even if there isn't a lot of deal flow you should be around. I say way too much if you want to live an even semi sane life

i did that while i was working at a MM 2 summers ago and yea it was HELL i tell you and not to mention my class was an easy humanities class but i wouldnt suggest you. It was literally doing HW @ like 2:00 am when i had to be in around 7 am. If you do though good luck!

Personally.. you would be better off finding a steady girl that you could lay into on a regular basis. Pretty sure that would get you more respect around the office than a few extra credits.

Take it for all it's worth.

and a great way to relieve stress.

i did all three actually..interned, summer courses and had an nyu chick.

i find them to be the best of both worlds, a hot/fun operations chick mixed with a witty/rich banker chick.

DISCLAIMER: I did not attend NYU. Not that there's anything wrong with it.

The world has changed. And we must change with it.

------------ I'm making it up as I go along.

depends on how she looks i think

I did just the same thing last summer (interned at an MM PE firm and took a summer course at the same time). It was absolute hell. I lucked out and was able to go to class from 7:30am - 9:00am and come in to work at 9:30, but I can't recall a time when I left the office earlier than 11pm. Mix all the stress of work with an additional 2-3 hours of reading and studying for class the next day, and it'll suck the life right out of you. It is possible to do (I got an A in the class and a FT offer that summer) but I highly suggest against it, unless it's necessary.
