Internal IB Lateral

I’m at BB and I am trying to lateral to a different group because I don’t like industry that I am in. I already have a PE offer (not sector specific) and can’t wait another year to switch to PE. I really don’t like the industry and as a result it’s hard for me to give 100% and actually care. The people I work with think I do a good job but I don’t think my staffer would agree because my lack of enthusiasm might be apparent. As a result, I don’t know if she will give great reviews to other managers as I try to lateral. I plan on turning it around but given these facts, do you have any advice on how I should try to navigate the lateral process? Should I tell her in advance that way she knows I’m unhappy and tries to get rid of me lol? Do I hide the PE offer when I lateral or tell groups in advance since my staffer could let them know or don’t hide don’t tell? Going to PE is also a huge motivating factor to learn as much as possible in IB, just not in my group lol

Just be honest and it will all work out for the best.

Would emphasize how much you've contributed to the group and gently suggest that the group owes it to you to help you lateral for the last year given your contribution previously/strong historical performance. Be sure to emphasize any examples where you feel you've been treated unfairly or not properly supported.

At most banks, you're required to disclose any offer you've signed, to avoid any potential conflicts issues. Would review any policy - violating this can result in more severe consequences vs. underperforming.
