International Internship vs US

Hey guys,

Incoming undergrad freshman here planning out the summer internship. One option is to intern at a small to medium HF type firm in HK

When recruiting for freshman/sophomore internships, would the location of HK rather than somewhere in the US put me at a disadvantage?

Thanks

Would interning in HK for the summer leading into freshman year be considerably worse than interning somewhere in the US
