International Student at ASU - Passionate about IB

Hello there,

I am a Finance major with certificate in Business Data Analytics at ASU (3.7 GPA). I have been looking at forums and learning about different ways to break into IB for some time now. I am an International Student from Pakistan and passionate about the Investment Banking industry. I have worked 3 years in Data Analysis at a startup before college to gain scholarship and now continuing my academics.

Applied to different firms but got rejected due to the fact that I am just a freshman and haven't taken sufficient business courses yet, and some firms were not willing to take F-1 students. I need some advice on how to break into the banking industry. My preference is Wall Street like most of the banking enthusiasts but have no issues starting from any other state due to my non-target school background.

I am also quite confused between M&A and Trading industries as both are quite appealing to me. Long hours is not a concern because of my hard working nature, I am taking financial modeling courses online through WSO and Khan academy. Any kind of help will be extremely helpful.

P.S : I am still working to improve my writing skills.
