Internship extensions
Hello Chimps,
I have been on a fixed term contract in ECM/corporate finance for 8 months now. My MD recently offered to extend my contract by a further 6 months before returning for a graduate scheme the following September.
My true interests lay within fixed income/ macro investing. I was hoping to use my year off to network and apply to roles that incorporate this.
My question is: Is it better to stay ‘in’ the industry albeit not in a related role, or not to extend and use the time off to network and apply to FI AM roles? Clearly, corporate finance leaves little time to network effectively.
Any general thoughts on internship extensions are also greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
