Its decent as an internship. However if you want to enter FO roles in the future then this job probably will probably not really help you gain the relevant skills needed.

Its just how they named it. BO and MO are essentially the same thing. And you would probably be under the GBAM line of business for the internship. Its pretty straight forward what you would be doing if you read the description. Also, it would be good experience if you want to either stay MO/BO or if you want to go FO in S&T. Obviously its not a FO internship but its better than the kid from some Ivy who spends the summer as a country club boat cleaner in Greenwich.

Do it if its the only thing on the table. I've seen kids secure FT offers in IBD roles even if they had a middle office role for their internship. You will need to really shine academically, but its possible. Starting FT in a MO/BO role would make the transition to FO much more difficult than if you did it just for a summer. Plenty of interviewers will understand that getting an IBD role is tough and opportunities are sparse. It will also be easy to explain why you didn't want to go FT in the role you had during the summer...

Thank you all for the replies, I appreciate them very much. Would a 3.5 GPA be high enough to get into FO? If I do plan on taking this internship I plan on networking a lot and working my ass off but I obviously only want to do it if the experience is going to be good and it'll pay off at the end.
