Interview Prep Resources

I’m a soph at a target, recruiting for SA27 right now. Things went pretty well in networking so now have a couple interviews scheduled. I was wondering if there are any useful resources for prepping for them? I’ve finished the guides and the questions there honestly don’t seem to be that challenging. Anyone had good experience with anything else?

Controversial

I’ve been using Tino. I realized it's a big difference between knowing something and being able to articulate it. One thing about it afaik is they are school restricted so idk if you can use it

Do they have a mock interview feature? Also are the questions different from the guides? I feel like a bunch of these platforms just rewrite the guides

I'm a senior so take my advice with a grain of salt.

People use Adventis for knowing what apps have opened. I used that one as well and it's pretty good. Lot of the other resources I tried didn't seem that good to me, but it's been two years so they might have improved. You say that the guides are too simple but I found that they cover it well.

Lot of people mention Tino in the comments. I’ve never used it personally. I’ve heard it’s more expensive than most alternatives, but some sophomores in my clubs seem to like it bcs of real questions. Personally I wouldn’t pay unless you rlly want the job

I suppose it depends on what you're looking for exactly - what are your specific areas of weakness? I've interviewed quite a few people (not exactly IB related), and the vast majority of people have issues with their delivery - it lacks confidence and clarity. Even more so, their stories really fall apart after poking it a few times, and then 30 minutes in, they've lost all stability in the way they speak.

Given that many processes use HireVue and its counterparts, a significant portion of these are now algorithmically driven. If you're looking for something like that, you can try using ChatGPT (finance knowledge is really just okay and its syncophancy makes it hard to get a realistic interview comeback/criticism) or a dedicated platform like this that uses AI to actually drill you using different characters to mimic the tough asshole type associate, amongst others. Have a look around using Google search too. In terms of content, I heard BIWS is good.

if your not finding the guides challenging you're already in a good spot (assuming your working through the advanced questions as well). The guide covers pretty much everything you will see but I found it helpful to supplement by studying some of the questions asked by firms in prior interview cycles which I found on liquidity shark, which i recommend using if your interviewing at any of the EBs.

Am I the only one that finds these astroturfing posts from all these interview prep tools/websites where they pretend to be students and pose these leading questions/then plug their sites in the comments with other freshly made accounts (and then upvote each other's comments) extremely annoying and cringy? Do people actually fall for this? Feel like I see a new website/tool doing this strategy each week/month...
