Intl students ... how was recruiting?
Just curious, lots of places told me they don't want to hire international students this time around and many of them are auto-dinging.
Any luck for you guys?

visa issues were a little bit of a sticking point but i did get a lehman NYC ibd offer which i have accepted. other banks tried to gauge my interest in hong kong and asia also.
as a singaporean, I qualify for the h1b1 visa; it has a separate quota from the h1b.
I interviewed with Lehman's IBD NYC office last year and wasn't extended a "US" offer solely becuase of the H1B madness. They liked me a lot and were willing to give me a london offer. I even got calls from the VPs that interviewed me tellin me that the London program is just as good as the US program and I should be jumping at the opportunity. Unfortunately, US is where I want to reside.
The fact that your country had a seprate quota must have been why you didn't face the problem that some of us experienced. Unfortunately for me, my country doesn't enjoy such privilege.

Not a problem. MY int'l friends interviewed with almost all the top banks (no JPM, no GS, i think all the others) and got offers. They are hesitant to give offers to int'ls for H1B. But if you are good, they want you.
Is it true that there's a different quota for international MBA students? Do you reckon it'll get easier or more difficult with a Democratic President?
