Introducing friend to HR while still in interview process?

Hey folks,

Have a quick question and I'm hoping you folks can shed light on this. On track through interview rounds for a certain firm, and a friend / fellow alum just indicated his interest in applying to the same place. We're wondering what the best way to approach this to HR would be. Would it make sense for me to introduce him to HR without being too far in the interview rounds? Would that hurt my own chances? We'd be applying for different locations. Should he apply through formal processes? Cold call?

If it matters, I myself networked my way in to an interview.

Thanks!

I was in a similar situation a few years ago when I was trying to get my first FO gig. I suggest going through it lone wolf. If your friend wants it, let him cold call / network like you did. It would be a MUCH different story if you were actually hired by the firm and then you wanted to help a buddy out, but in this case, don't, or you might be kicking yourself later on.
