Not a game changer, but I do have a side gig where I'll build operating / cash management models for friends / friends of friends who are starting companies. Usually charge an hourly or flat fee. So not too different from this.
It's interesting for start up ventures or small businesses that need someone to build a model or put together a powerpoint and don't have that function in house. A friend of mine is involved in a start up that was going for their first round of institutional vc and used them for that. He said it was first rate product. I know we all take it for granted that anyone can whip a 10 tab detailed model and a professional ppt in their sleep but unless you have an ex-banker on your team that's not very likely.
Sites like these have been around for a while. There are guys from IB and PE that build models for clients using these platforms. It is most for small businesses.
What are the names of the other sites? Seems like this would be awesome way to fund my lifestyle as a ski bum once I get tired of this finance thing...
The Taproot Foundation is one. Everything is done pro bono.
I've seen these before. Anyone aware of any Analyst-as-a-Service companies? I'd be surprised if one didn't exist already. The analyst role seems like one prime for being outsourced since associates are the ones more likely to (want to) move up the ladder anyways.
