If I were to consider joining an Investment Banker, especially in the following areas, what skill-set will be expected of me? What are the key parameters looked upon while interviewing candidates for such a position? What are the industry trends followed? Examples would help a lot.

(1) Valuation (distressed, going concern and start-up)

(2) M&A (help source, value and acquire a target for a billion dollar public company), catering to the C-Suite of Executives, and

(3) IPO
