IPO of foreign companies at US stock markets
Hey guys,
I'm just wondering how the IPOs of foreign companies at US stock markets are done. I appreciate your sharing some insights.
For example, this Chinese hotel chain (HTHT), the bookrunners are GS and MS. Who really did the work? Bankers at GS/MS Asian offices or at US office. If both need to get involved, how did they cooperate on deals like this?
Thanks,
Most of the work done by Hong Kong bankers. There is a limited amount of coordination with probably a few of the senior MD's on the New York side. Reason Hong Kong bankers do the work is that they have the relationship with the company's management, and also HK bankers obviously know the regional industry better.
Thanks, ibhopeful532. Just another quick question, do HongKong bankers have to travel a lot to NYC since they have to sell the IPOs to investors here?
