Is Gleacher and Company good for an SA position?
How is this company nowadays? Deal flow, exit ops, etc. I've read they have been struggling lately, but is Gleacher still good for a summer position?

I'd still take it over a lot of stuff, but it really depends on what your other options are. Regardless, I would try to get an offer there and start thinking about whether to work there afterwards.
It depends upon your other opportunities. I'd say there's a decent chance they're purchased by the end of your SA in August, and in that case what will happen to you is unpredictable. If your resume is good enough to be considered by Gleacher, I'd expect you are competitive elsewhere - and you should go elsewhere. If it's your only option take it. They still pay well, have a lot of talented analysts, including what I think is a significant HYP contingent, and it will be a good name to have on your resume for FT recruiting.
Like was said above- if you can get Gleacher you can probably get other places as well- they only recruit at H/P/W/Columbia
