Read an article that HSBC is paying higher than average bonuses. They also have had a high hiring activity lately. How is the bank doing now in terms of culture, deal flow, etc? Been hearing mixed reviews on its ib division lately.

I believe the article you read was referring to HSBC paying higher than normal bonuses internally. Which is obvious as talent is getting more expensive. Can’t speak on their specific numbers this year though.
Bonuses are announced next week, rumor is they going to pay well given the attrition from last year
