is IB leadership Ignorant

From reading these forums I see why IB's are having a harder time retaining talent or even getting it and they seem to be continuing to bump salaries. If I had to guess they will have to continue to give major bumps for a good bit to keep the talent  under current working conditions.

Why do they not focus on eliminating or at least alleviating these environments. From what I can gather people are generally going to be far less productive past the 80 hour mark and juniors seem to be pushed around in an unnecessary way. In fact much of it seems to only be justified on the fact that they were done that way in the past so now they things that is how things need to continue to be done.

The current lack of talent and talent leaving are evidence banks with need to give massive pay increases or either improve the working environment. Why do they not simply want to improve the working environment?
