Sent a thank you follow up but havent heard any response since, how bad is this and does this impact chances moving fowards with the firm?

Wouldn’t worry about this in the slightest. Probably busy and never got around to a response, or felt that a response wasn’t needed - neither of which are anything to worry about nor reason to send a follow-up to the follow-up.
Yeah, don’t sweat it. This happened to me quite a few times. Bankers are busy and so it should mean a lot they were willing to take the time to chat with you.
