Is it normal to take this long?
Just started working full time at a BB (it’s genuinely only week 2) and feel frustrated with how slow I am. Got tasked with working through a cash flow model but feel so anxious about mistakes at this point in time it took me 7 hours so I could avoid turns. Is it normal to be this slow starting out ??????
My friends at various banks said they got pretty good at the technical stuff around month 7/8, and got good with PowerPoint around 4 months in. I wouldn’t stress, plus most BBs and banks don’t give interns technical work so it’s kinda hard to adapt and get good. This is just what my friends have told me. Hope this helps.
have you done an internship before in IB? it shouldn't be taking you 7 hours for a simple CF model if you have. you need to work quickly and accurately and be ok with getting comments/screwing up, your job is to get comments now and learn from it given how new you are. You won't be 100% accurate, but at least you can try to be timely
