is it ok to send out mass resumes?

Hi,

Im a freshman and applying to various internships for the summer (not IB). I'm on the morgan stanley website, and they let me send resumes for as many programs as I want (ex. GWM,PWM, public finance...etc). Would they be like wtf if they see I sent out an application for everything? Or will they not give a rat's ass?

Regards.

ok i get it. But I did see lots of things with companies like Merrill Lynch for jobs like PWM, that specifically said that it is open for freshmans to apply. There was also a a program (not IB) at Bear Stearns that said freshmans are encouraged to apply.....

However, I see where u're coming from. But, do you think it is possible(realistic) for me to do something at smaller firms? Or am I still too young?

got a couple bus classes under my belt (intros) and pre reqs. As for networking, I know a guy who is high up at Morningstar. I know that's not that great, but hopefully it's better than nothing. As for skills, I am fluent (read/write/speak) in English, Spanish,Hindi, and Japanese. However, for Japanese I can only read.

You can do whatever you want... but as a freshman, is it really going to do anything to apply to all those? Generally you're going to need some kind of inside connection to have a shot when you're a freshman, and even if you get an internship a lot of the work will probably be BS anyway. You're welcome to try, but I would only seriously pursue it if you have or can get some good alumni connections, otherwise better to focus on getting some other good summer experience.
