Is it possible to move from Equity Research to Fixed Income Research? Which bank is the strongest in FI right now?

Posting here because there is no forum on WSO for fixed income research. Did a stint in equity research, currently I am a 1L in law school. Is it possible to apply legal knowledge for fixed income and is it hard to move from equity research to FI research internship?

Also, which bank is the strongest in terms of FI research on the street right now?
