I’m a sophomore at a non-target and want to break into IB. I’ve started networking with alumni but don’t have anything lined up for this summer. The concept of cold emailing for an internship was introduced to me yesterday during a call.
Question is, is it too late for me locate nearby firms and cold email for a paid or unpaid internship?

You can always try to network or cold email/call and find something, but most spaces are taken up for the summer. Plus some programs are virtual anyway, some are f2f. Wish you best of luck in finding something.

Try maybe smaller firms, not GS/MS etc, they may have something available. Be creative. send out an email and then follow up with a friendly follow up call and just check if they need anything. If they say no, ask for a referral!
