Is it worth it to try to lateral from BB SA to a "better" BB FT?

Title is pretty self explanatory but a bit more of context:

I'll be doing my IBD SA at Barclays in London this summer. Question is: is it worth it to try to lateral FT to American BB's that are more prestigious (like MS/GS/JP or even Citi or BAML)?

I do want to pursue Masters or MBA at a good university (HBS, Stanford, Sloan etc) some time in the future, and I've heard that having a good name on the resume can really help your chances (I'm a junior at a target uni and have ~3.9 GPA as of now, if this at all relevant).

Would it worth it to try to network with these American banks to get FT there, instead of staying at Barclays? (I'd say I have a fairly good chance of getting a return offer - have a few good contacts there and have good relationship with the HR etc)

Thanks in advance for your advice/help!

Nothing wrong with interviewing up until the deadline Barclays gives you to sign your return offer.

I would really focus on getting a return offer this summer though, and saving most if not all of your networking for the fall. It will be very tough to recruit at any top tier banks for full time if you missed on getting a return offer.

Just my opinion too, but I think Barclays is just as well regarded as Citi or BAML.
