Is lateraling as An2 or An3/As0 easier?
Pretty much title. Also, does it matter on what group or city you are in? I am open to moving and would like to know when the best time to do so would be.

Moving as an An2 IMO - there are way more analyst lateral spots open due to a greater natural attrition level for analysts. Additionally, on average, the number of analysts per group is larger than the number of associates to begin with. Associate opportunities are less frequently available given that Aso tend to view banking as a longer term path and there's less attrition.
I kinda disagree with this. The natural attrition point at most banks is after people finish An2, so they are generally lacking An3s or A0s due to people leaving for PE. Most firms would rather a solid later associate than hiring MBAs.
