Is lateraling from no-name boutique to MM likely? (London)

Recently joined as an Analyst at a relatively new M&A boutique in London. Deals are <50m EV, so super small, and competitors are typically big 4/occasionally a GP Bullhound type to provide some colour.

Deal flow is very solid, with the current pipeline I will have 6-10 deals under my belt within the next year - albeit very small EV deals.

My goal is to step up in terms of deal size relatively early (don’t want to get pigeonholed into low EV deals) and MM seems like a good stepping stone.

What actually is the likelihood of a lateral from (L!!!)MM to MM IB in London in the next few years? I know it’s possible but trying to get some colour on how much I have to fight for it. Thanks

bump, anyone have thoughts on how to set up for future lateraling when at an LMM Boutique (networking or whatever else) for LDN? in a similar situation to OP.
