"Look, you're my best friend, so don't take this the wrong way. In twenty years, if you're still livin' here, comin' over to my house to watch the Patriots games, still workin' construction, I'll fuckin' kill you. That's not a threat, that's a fact.

"Black shirt/silver tie during interview

by WishYouWereHere IB

(Senior Orangutan, 443 Points) on 12/26/10 at 1:50am Is it cool to wear a black shirt with a silvery tie during an interview? It might come across as too modern but it could also be seen as hip, cool and "happenin'" right? I know it's a risk but is it worth it?"

Enough said.

Got to be a troll. No one is this stupid.

I hope this is a troll...because my usual "what a fucking retard" comment will not be enough for the severity of this case.

Welcome to America....where people can want something they have no idea what it is.

The answer to your question is 1) network 2) get involved 3) beef up your resume 4) repeat -happypantsmcgee WSO is not your personal search function.

Some other gems from WishYouWereHere

WishYouWereHereYou hear rumors about banking being brutal and stretching the limits of work endurance: 80, 85, 90, 95 or even 100 (!) hours per week. surely not a sport for the faint of heart! Yet it seems like it's exaggerated - after all who can stay up until 1-2 am for five nights/week and still work on weekends? I guess the lure of big bucks and megafunds dangle the carrot eh? And you don't want your MDs yelling at you that's the stick?

But still has anyone ever done that legendary 100 hours a week, or heard of others at other banks who do? I have yet to encounter it in my informational interviews

Bow tie to interview

WishYouWereHere

What are your thoughts on wearing a bow tie to an interview? Nothing too crazy, maybe small elephants/monkeys on a yellow bow or subtle stripes. Could be risky but could you look more like a "fratty" bro that way?

Animi aut ea laborum odit. Harum porro esse facilis qui est quos eos. Distinctio adipisci rerum ratione iste.
