Is Research Department helpful for landing IB summer internship?

Hi Guys,

Here's my situation, don't know what to do

Recently I may have a chance to intern at a top 5 PE firm in China, but in the research department, in which most interns, as i knew, did industry/company research, wasn't exposed too much to a specific project.

and i am about to go to the graduate school, also preparing for the cpa exam up coming in October,

and the IB summer recuiting is about to begin soooooooon, everything massed up !!!!

So, should I take that intern, or just prepare for the exam and summer intern application.

PS. currently i've got three internship, an IB bank, a mutual fund, and a consulting firm

What to do? Thanks!!!!

No. Doesn't do you any help if all you're doing is research and are labeled in the research dpt. Especially if you already have ib experience on your resume (I am assuming this when you say you got an internship at an ib bank). Just really expand on this work exp.

Now if you worked in a BO role at the ib bank then you are screwed and in a dilemma. Personally, if it's to overwhelming to do the internship than don't.

Thanks! That really helps. Originally I thought having big names on resume may just help get your the interview, am i right?

and you said to expand the ib exp, actually what i did is drawing pitch books, not much about the execution part, is it enough or should I try to find another investment related intern?
