I was talking with an MD who said I should look into off cycle at their BB in New York. I googled it, but I couldn't find anything about off cycle at any BB in New York, just London.
Obviously, I am going to look into this more with the MD, but would such a thing be a 100% informal process?

its a thing at Citi from certain schools, they got winterships...not sure ab other schools
theres like 100+ IBs in nyc, if you really want one then get one. start grinding
How do you want us to grind?
I've sent about 500 emails with perfect template and follow-up and got only 2 calls that lead to nothing. I honestly don't know if this strategy is successful.
1. Send those emails to MDs, or, if it's a small boutique, to partners
2. Make your email shorter, don't sound needy, don't write like a simp
3. Include your resume
4. Track every email sent in an Excel sheet, send a follow-up for any email older than 1 week. If no reply, send the email to someone else in the firm
If you've emailed 500 people with 500 follow ups and only 2 people responded, your template is obviously not perfect. There's either something wrong about your approach or your resume has issues and they think you're not worth their time.
