Is this a good sign?
So I recently applied for a lateral Ib analyst position at a BB and had sent out some networking emails to the team. I was able to connect with an IB associate at the BB but in a different coverage team. Shortly after that conversation, the MD of the team that I applied for (also the hiring manager for the position) reached out to me mentioning that my resume had been forwarded to him and asked if I had some time to connect with him. From my understanding, this isn’t technically an official interview yet. Is that a good sign that the MD is interested in my candidacy? Does this mean anything? I’m not sure how competitive my profile given how competitive BB recruiting is but I do have somewhat relevant experience. Thoughts on this?
