IT to IBD
Hi, So I am currently a senior from a non-target pursuing a combined degree in a science degree and MBA with a finance concentration. Last summer I did an IT internship with BB and this summer also I have acquired another offer from BB for their IT division. Also I will be graduating in June 2014. I really want to movie in to IBD and I was wondering what kind of advice can anyone give to make the transition from IT division of BB to IBD.
Any advise would be helpful.
Best idea would be to stop doing IT immediately. If you take the internship this summer in IT it'll start to label you as an IT guy. If you want IB, get an internship this summer in IB whether its at a boutique or other MM bank. SA recruiting is coming up so start getting your name out there.
Try getting a relevant position similar to IB and leverage it into IB as time goes on. And don't discount Boutiques
