JPM China (experienced) recruitment process

Hi everyone,

I'm very interested in one JPM China opportunity and have applied on the recruitment website 1 week ago. Got nothing after the confirm email and the "talent network" email. The job was posted on early March so I'm not sure if there are already tons of applications before me.

Also, I heard from my refer guy that JPM's JV was still in early stage in China, so they're recruiting ED/MDs, after which will be junior candidates. I'm Chinese and have been working in the same department at a Chinese securities firm for 3 years.

Should I wait or cold-mail the group head? Anyone who may know the process? I would truly appreciate any advice.

Hey! I cannot help you a lot but China is quite different than other places. I got some friends breaking into China office mainly due to their good guanxi or educational background. The problem is that many positions are just very competitive and people don't care much about you if they don't see how your guanxi can add value.

I would think that breaking into JP HK at this point might be the better alternative for you
