JPM SA Experience

was going to be working in Corp banking NYC this summer, (recruiting IB now) and internship got pushed back / virtual now. wondering what previous experiences for JPM SA have been like (work events, work hours, people, firm culture, perks, gear, salary, etc) and curious to see how much I’m missing out

It's the same as other banks, but I can speak on it. Company happy hours, nice welcome events with free food, random nice lunches with higher ups that get paid for. One thing that was funny last year was a bartending contest between the different departments that acted as a fundraiser. Community service event. Not much in terms of gear for the Analysts. The Associates got nice vests last year. I think North Face but can't remember for sure.

I wouldn't be worried about missing out on the experience though. HR will probably make it up to you guys when you start full-time with a few extra nicer events.

I interned at JPM- they host events like bowling (with drinks), they had an event at Chealsea Pier, and sometimes they have a Yankees game. Also, there are plenty of opportunities usually to go out with your fellow interns/team to get drinks after work.

One thing youll be happy to miss out on is the constant stress of competition with fellow interns. Knowing there are only X spots available and seeing your "competition" every day is kind of unnerving, but also makes you perform better (at least I found it motivating in terms of friendly competition). You also dont have to worry about face time which is nice- you wont need that drink at 8:30 on Friday since you wont be crushed working till 3 AM

wow I didn’t think that it would have that much competition for a returning offer. those hours are also pretty cool tho I was looking forward to getting that paid overtime
