JPM Tech Group NY (2023)

Curious to learn more about the team Tech team at JPM (New York specifically) and wondering how it compares to the likes of GS TMT and other TMT franchises on the street/NY.

Would be great to hear specifically about the industry coverage (software, semiconductors, hardware,etc....?), culture, hours (really sweaty?), and also exit opportunities (would an MF exit or an exit to a large tech PE fund be possible?) How does this group compare in terms of prestige and exits to other groups at JPM?

Also really interested to hear about the day to day and specifically modeling experience. I know that M&A group exists at JPM so is all modeling work done in the Tech group or outsourced to the M&A group? Is it a lot of pitching work or actual execution? Thanks

Hellish culture with average deal flow compared to its peers. It’s a clear step down from GS TMT, MS Menlo, Q, and CVP

Do you work at the group by any chance?

Would be really interested to hear exit opps, general percepion/prestige by/amongst headhunters, and specifically whether the modeling is done within the group or just outsourced to the M&A group.

any insight on the experience at the analyst level - is there no modeling at all?
