jpmorgan contact, can i use this?

Ok so this is kinda complicated. I recently found out that a good friend of mine's father works really high up at JPMorgan. Now, my friend said that his dad works in JPM's marketing division. I really have no clue how divisions interact within a bank, but he said he interacts with the banking division, but obviously doesn't work for it. If he is really high up in Marketing, do you think he would have any pull in helping me get a job in a separate division, namely Banking, or do would jpm's marketing division have nothing to do with IB and this contact would only be useful if i were going into marketing, which i am not.
