Junior Spring IB Internships?

Have already secured five top offers for summer programs. I picked a top BB offer for the summer, but my study abroad schedule means that I have a full 12 weeks during the winter/spring time where I could work and get experience and make money. Do any top firms have off-cycle opportunities or commonly make exceptions for kids who are willing to be abused and worked hard off-cycle? I know some modeling and would be willing to work in London, NY or SF.

Same situation here actually. Signed with a top EB though (full time, came up out of equity research). I have an offer to intern with a tiny boutique that offered to sponsor my series exams so I wouldn't have to do this during summer training. Should i take the off -cycle internship and get a little MM experience or just relax / travel / study for the GMAT / work outside of finance? Also curious if BBs offer off-cycle internships?

As long as the dates don't collide, I wouldn't expect there to be any issues unless there was some sort of non-compete or whatnot in your contracts, (unlikely for a SA position) I would have a read through them just in case though.

I do think that you could look a bit undecided when you go into full-time, but it really depends on how you spin your story. If you find out you love IBD over S&T for example, you could spin your story such that before going into the internships, you wanted to experience both opportunities and learn as much as possible, but now following them you know that IBD is the path you want to take. It all comes down to how you can articulate it in an interview such that you don't look wishy-washy.

I really don't see there being any contract issues with that. I interned part-time before doing SA and am still interning part-time even before starting FT. They don't care what you're doing before you start with them, especially before SA

I think it's actually great that you're getting exposure to both industries. That way, if you decide you like IBD more you have a great story as to why you'd like to switch and will have a much better shot at it. If not, you'll hopefully get the return offer for your S&T role and won't even need to worry about it. If you decide to try to switch to another BB for an S&T role, it's pretty easy to explain that you just wanted more exposure to the different areas of finance. As said above, it's all about how you spin it.
