Keep getting referred to HR/HCM at GS

I remember emailing a partner from Goldman and a VP from Goldman. I kept getting an email telling me to apply on the website (which is an obvious black hole). Another friend of mine at my college that has a better GPA than mine but with less stellar internships has gotten forwarded to HR. GS was only on our schools radar for IBD last year and now they discontinued recruiting perhaps. Someone that was an associate was more than happy to speak with me, but mentioned that the FT analyst class is full. HR also mentioned that it was. Can anyone tell me whats going on? Thanks!
